TRIM is a weight-loss and fitness app operated by Backoffiz LLC, Texas, USA ("Backoffiz", "we", "us"). It offers group and solo challenges, food and water logging, a lifting program, weigh-ins, a daily coach, and a view of health data you choose to share from Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS). This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, who sees it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect what the app needs to work — your account, what you log, and the health data you explicitly grant. We do not sell your data, we show no ads, and we never use health data for advertising. Health data goes no further than showing you your own progress. You can delete your account and everything attached to it at any time.
| Category | What it includes | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address and password, or the identity you sign in with (Google or Apple). Display name. A profile photo if you add one. | Our backend (Supabase). The photo stays on your phone today; a future version may store it on our backend so it can appear in your groups. |
| Profile and goals | Height, weight, target weight, date of birth or age, sex if you provide it, units, daily targets (steps, calories, water), fasting schedule, reminder times, theme. | Your phone, synced to our backend so a new phone keeps your settings. |
| Food and water | Meals and drinks you log, portions, and the nutrition figures behind them; water intake. | Your phone and our backend. |
| Workouts | Program sessions (exercises, sets, weights, reps, rest timing), swaps you make, activities you log. | Your phone and our backend. |
| Body metrics | Weigh-ins and the trend computed from them. | Your phone and our backend. |
| Challenges | Which challenges you join or create, your daily check-ins and progress, group membership, invite codes you use. | Our backend, so your group can see the leaderboard. |
| Health platform data | Only what you grant — see section 2. | Read on your phone; some values are stored so your history and coach work (section 2). |
| Camera and photos | The camera reads barcodes; the image is processed on the phone and not stored. If you choose to scan a food photo or a nutrition label, that photo is sent to our AI provider to read it (section 4) and is not kept by us. | Transient. |
| Device and diagnostics | App version, device model and OS, crash reports and basic usage events once crash reporting is enabled in the app. | Our crash-reporting provider (section 4). |
We do not collect your location, contacts, or microphone audio. TRIM has no ads and no advertising identifiers.
With your permission, TRIM reads from Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS: steps, distance, active energy, exercise sessions, weight, height, heart rate, heart-rate variability, sleep, blood glucose, blood pressure, nutrition and water. You choose which of these to grant; the app works with any subset. Blood glucose, blood pressure and heart-rate variability are read-only and shown to you as recorded — TRIM never interprets or labels them.
With your permission, TRIM writes back what you log in the app so your health record stays complete: workouts, active energy, distance, weight, height and water. It writes nothing else.
How this data is used, and the limits we hold ourselves to:
We share data only with the providers that run the service, and only what each needs:
| Provider | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage | Your account and everything in section 1 that is synced. |
| Google (Sign in with Google) | Optional sign-in | Your Google identity when you choose it; governed by Google's privacy policy. |
| Apple (Sign in with Apple) | Optional sign-in on iOS | Your Apple identity, which may be a relay email; governed by Apple's policy. |
| Anthropic (AI provider) | Daily coaching note; food-photo and label reading | The anonymous daily summary in section 3, and photos you choose to scan. No account identifiers. |
| Crash-reporting provider | Stability | Crash traces, device model and OS, app version. Named here when enabled. |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Subscriptions | Handled entirely by the store; we receive a purchase token, never your card. |
We do not sell personal information and have not done so. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users. If Backoffiz is acquired or merges, your data would move with the service under this policy, and we would tell you.
Your data lives on your phone and on our backend hosted by Supabase in the United States. It is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access on the server is limited by row-level security so that one account cannot read another's data, and by staff access controls. No method is perfect; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, logs, metrics, challenge participation and photos from our backend, and sign you out of every device; backups age out within 30 days. Data that has already been shared to a group leaderboard is removed from it. Health data you granted on the phone stays in Health Connect or Apple Health — it is yours, and TRIM never held the only copy.
How to delete: Settings → Account → Delete account in the app, or email support@trimfitnessapp.com from the address on the account. Details on the delete your account page.
TRIM is for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it. Calorie targets and fasting features are not appropriate for minors.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will show a notice in the app and update the effective date above. Continued use after the date means you accept the change.
